It is based on published documentation, not hands-on testing.
If an UPLIFT V3 desk needs its legs synchronized with the control box, the manufacturer provides a reset procedure that moves the desk down to its lowest position and then slightly down and up again. Clear the entire travel area first. This guide follows the V3 frame manual, revision AI-FV3-200-2.0, and must not be treated as instructions for a V2 desk or an unrelated controller. [1]
Confirm the desk and keypad
Match your desk to the V3 manual before pressing buttons. UPLIFT’s current instructions distinguish keypads with a display from Paddle Keypads during reset, and separately warn that the advanced programming section does not apply to every keypad. A button sequence found online is not enough to establish that it belongs to your hardware.
Write down the displayed message before doing anything. If a fault remains after the documented reset, that message is useful when contacting support. Do not open the control box or legs; the safety section explicitly prohibits opening or inserting objects into them.
Clear the desk’s movement area
The manual warns of pinch and crush hazards between the moving desk, accessories, floor, and stationary objects. Remove anything underneath that would stop the desk reaching its lowest position. Check all sides, keep body parts clear, and keep children away unless supervised.
UPLIFT specifies at least a 1-inch gap between moving desk parts and adjacent objects. It also requires enough slack in desk and accessory cords that they do not pull during upward or downward movement. Check the entire path, not just whether a drawer unit fits under your normal seated position. Stop using the desk if parts are damaged or loose. [1]
The V3 reset sequence
Printed page 13 gives these steps:
- Remove anything under the desk that would prevent it moving to its lowest position.
- Press and hold the down button to lower the desk to its lowest position.
- Press and hold down again for about 10 seconds. Keypads with a display show ASr; Paddle Keypads show RESET.
- Press and hold down again until the desk lowers slightly, rises, and stops.
The slight additional movement is part of the manufacturer’s sequence, not a reason to put a hand beneath the desk to check it. UPLIFT calls for this synchronization before first use and when an error code appears. Its troubleshooting section also calls for resetting after unplugging or a power interruption. [1]
An error code may require another action first
The V3 troubleshooting table labels H01 as overheating. It describes a 10% duty cycle: after 2 minutes of continuous activation within a 20-minute period, allow at least 18 minutes of rest. Do not respond to overheating by repeatedly cycling the desk.
For E01–E06, UPLIFT lists checking the 355-pound weight limit and mechanical obstruction before resetting. For E07–E12, it lists cable connections and mechanical obstruction before resetting. These are V3 troubleshooting entries, not universal load ratings or code meanings for other desks.
When to contact support
UPLIFT says to contact support if an error persists after the reset or the legs differ in height by more than 1.5 inches. For repeated starting and stopping, it says the control box must be securely attached to the frame. If you cannot confirm the condition safely, stop and ask for help.
A successful reset does not certify that every accessory or cable is clear at every height. Recheck your setup after changes. This guide intentionally does not recommend lowering anti-collision sensitivity to overcome a snag; remove the cause and follow the manufacturer’s troubleshooting guidance instead.
Reusable ties for cable organization after troubleshooting
VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP 91140 ties — black, 8 × ½ inch, 100-pack
After following the V3 troubleshooting instructions and resolving any fault, VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP 91140 ties are a practical option for organizing loose peripheral cables. This selection is the black, 8 × ½-inch, 100-pack version; buy only if you have a use for that quantity.
The ties do not repair an ASr error, replace damaged wiring or increase anti-collision protection. Follow UPLIFT’s instructions before handling connections. Keep enough slack for full desk travel, avoid tight bundles, and keep cables and ties away from moving joints. Stop if a cable snags or becomes taut.
